So far? I wish someone would explain to me why the universe seems to revolve around that bit of real estate within the M25?
If I went on all three days (I may have to with the amount of exhibitors stating they are going to be there) I would drive some 540 miles less, save £24 on parking alone, and not have to put up with driving down to that flippin 'hotel' next to the airport...
That for me is something of a result.

    Hi Dick,
the one in London late last year, and also early this year were so bad that I left within an hour of getting there. I went as I have friends who I can visit while down there otherwise I simply wouldn't bother.
My post was also rather tongue in cheek, although there does seem to be a lot more industry interest in this new location - lets hope it works for them. One thing is for certain - it is nigh on impossible to get worse sounding rooms than Heathrow.
I simply look on the shows as a showcase for what is available - never judge by the sound coming from the room, as they are mostly truly unbearable.
I still think this location could work extremely well - they just need to check their dates against Siverstone races next time around...

Some of the rooms do sound poor - but then the exhibitor should spend some time and effort getting them sorted. If they simply shove systems into rooms without any attempt to look at the accoustic conditions, bluntly they cannot expect sales.

Then again, I've heard a lot of perfectly good kit sounding so-so in living rooms where no care has been taken over installation.

I stopped going to the Manchester one because the rooms were so awful. Lots of high end kit in hotel bedrooms just dosn't work. I also find every system just sounds exactly the same in those rooms.

Its also full of sales man trying to sell you £2000 a metre speaker cable for a pair of Wharfedales.

I will probably go, but because it's twenty minutes door to door - and out of curiousity :)

The show needed to move for numerous reasons

    Heathrow was dead

The audience needed to attract the Midlands and North, not just London

Everyone was fed up with stupid hotel prices and being ripped off for food and drink

The rooms are better at silverstone

It's a fresh start, there's loads more exhibitors and, at least, they're trying to improve.

All our dealers and customers will be most welcome. I've been to the hotel quite a few times and it has the most refreshing atmosphere of almost any "exhibition" hotel I have experienced for years. The staff are friendly and want to help.

If it fails at least we can all say, we tried.
