Fantastic, I can't wait to try that out. Really. I hope it changes my life the way mach3 has. Isn't it about time the monopolies/fair trade commission thing stepped into the razor market?

I spend much of my shaving life using a blunt blade because even the three blade ones work out nearly £1 a go. If you were to use a new one every day... That's just silly money for shaving!

The Gillette blade are expensive but they are much nicer than 10 for £1 disposables. I find a blade lsats me about 3-4 weeks so at £1 a blade I don't think its that bad, but when you buy the box's they seem expensive for a few blades.

Anyone tried that new thing with a battery? Does it use static or something?

the one with the battery works along the same lines a salmon shaver, i.e it vibrates the blades a really tiny amount, but this causes much better friction, as in a bread knife but on a really small scale.

Gilatte have the market covered, I got a free four bladed safety jobby from the other manufacturer and it feels like a lead weight in your hand.

Why don't they put more effort into inventing a cream that removes the bloody hair and get rid of shaving altogether, I HATE shaving !

I've just made the switch to shaving oil - specifically Somersets. Must say I'm really impressed. I've previously tried King of Shaves oil, but didnt like it. This stuff is really good and I can get a much closer shave than with gel stuff.

    Greg,

does the oil clog your pores and make you spotty? (seriously)

Darren - I get patches of dry skin and spots on my face easily, triggered by a range of products, but this stuff hasnt caused any spots or dryness at all (so far). Ive been using it for a week or so.

I find shaving gels tend to cost a lot for bugga all in the can. This stuff looks like it'll last ages.

I use the Gillette M3 thing (the one with the vibrating blades) and it's very effective. An M3 blade will last me about 2-3 weeks so I don't find them to be that expensive.

Like Gary, I tried the 4-bladed Wilkinson Sword thing for a while and it was useless. Didn't shave nearly as close as the Gillette and the gaps between the blades became instantly and pretty much irreversibly clogged.

Lee, it's certainly possible (but v.expensive) for men to have their facial hair removed permanently via laser treatment.

    Michael.

Mine last me about 2 weeks - I use the cheapest ones I can get as the expensive ones don't give me a close shave either.

No matter which blades I use, I still have stubble by 12 noon...

This is a good point. I use a Gillettte M3 Power (which I think is great) but I hadn't realized until recently - probably the last shaver post on the forum - that any of Gillette's triple blades would fit it (even my wife's 'Venus' blades). There's no need to throw away money on the most expensive blades.

I use the battery one from gilette and I like it alot, Ive not found any difference between the blades that go with it and the mach 3 ones which are cheaper though. If Im going out at night I have to shave twice a day which is abit if a bugger. I found the oil stuff gave me red patches (and I tried a few). If Im not going anywhere decent at the weekend I dont bother shaving and it gives my skin a real boost.

PS. If you want to spend a few quid on your products check out www.mankind.co.uk Ive tried the odd product in the past and it really is snake oil.
