    And we're off......

Something will definitely happen this saturday even if it's only listening to a couple of systems and having a beer or two, and a curry maybe. If anyone needs a lift I don't mind helping out, I know Isaac has got his car in for a service in the morning so I could meet people at train stations if they need to.
So who's really up for it. We need to show these Southern wusses how it should be done :p

    Hi Lordsummit,

I should be up for this. What is the plan of action? Is it going to be a 2 part affair, part of the time at Isaac's , the rest at yours? What time do you want to start? etc. etc.

How about a midday start at my place? I might well have the car back by then anyway.

Nothing too heavy planned... just some drinks, nibbles, chat good music, etc. Don't really feel like a kit-swapping day, but a couple of things might be ok.

That's what it's looking like. I suggest we start at Isaacs, then we could move on to mine if we want to. My system is quite different from his and we could play a bit, although as I use a Naim amp cabling is out of the loop, although I'd be really interested in looking at mains cables conditioners etc if anyone who's coming has some?
Thought that then as near me is an awesome Indian we could perhaps go for one of those, or I'll fire up the barbie if you'd prefer and the weathers half decent.
Anyone else got suggestions as to what we could do, or ideas for kit they could bring?

Like I say I might be up for it, but I'll have to confirm for certain nearer the time.

I have Olson, Trichord, Soniclink (now Black Rhodium) and Eupen mains stuff. The superDAC might be good to try with Naim amps too... So much for no box swapping....

Barbecue sounds good if the weather's right.

I'll get the stuff ready for bbq then. If anyone coming has special diets or doesn't eat meat let me know and I'll sort it out.
I've got dogs at my place, but they're mostly friendly. I'll get some beer in as well.

    HI,

I will be up for it. I'll be coming over in the car as I need to make a quick get away. Takes under a hour to get to that part of the world. A barbie would be nice, if the weather is up to it. I will eat anything, within reason.

I will bring selection of music. Old & new. I could bring some bits & bobs if need be.

Not sure if I'd be bringing them to be honest, it was hard enough work getting them in the car the last time, and they werent exactly very secure, didnt wanna brake too hard lets just say....

Might bring the cans and headphone amp tho, and selection of music... Didnt really feel that much like a big kit swapping day either, TBH, it would just be nice to see a few faces and what have you...

Edit: I think myself and Mart will probably come down in one car, so theres another name for the list :)

The Greyhound wouldn't be worth it, and the Spaniel would be too tough. Mind you I believe Spaniel is the favoured meat of Koreans, very sweet. That's what I tell him when he's naughty :D

Must be contagious. I have a slightly unwell speaker, although I seem to have managed to make the problem go away... time will tell. I think there's something up with the mid/bass driver on one (where I already had to replace the tweeter... think that speaker might have had something nasty happen to it), but taking the driver out and putting it back in seems to have made it sort itself out.

I think the deck has moved in the stupid cabinet SWMBO insists it stays in, and the cart was out of line as well. I seem to getting a lot of distortion... A bit more playing and we'll see what happens. It's definitely getting better.

You're right Isaac it is contagious. after much fiddling I've worked out it's a dodgy speaker causing the problems. am now going to pull it bits, WD40 all the connections and hope for the best... Bloody typical ain't it
