I feel structure comes to the fore when small motives are not given undue importance and therefore a bar oriented approach is horrible to my ears. That said, you could do much worse than stiking with Ross. But there is a marvelous interpretation of the Tombeau de Monsieur de Chambonnières, played by Skip Sempé in a Chambonnières record (Deutsche HM) that everyone should listen to: quite superlative.
