I did check, in the reliable:

    http://www.kropla.com/electric2.htm

Mind you, I confess to missing this bit:

Just about everywhere listed here has higher voltage lines available for heavy duty appliances (not to mention commercial or industrial applications).

Hence the absence of mention the Swiss use of 400V for washing machines and the like. I guess it just means the standard mains.

A lot of Americans come to work in the chemical/pharma industry in Basel. They all bring 120V stuff with them and they buy or hire transformers. I've yet to meet any with US-sourced 230V equipment.

I know the three-pin version of that Italian plug (earth pin in the middle). The Swiss have a sort of fatter version, like a flattened hexagon with an offset earth pin. It goes into a socket of the same shape. Liechtenstein uses them, but nobody else in Europe of which I'm aware.

I live in the countryside outside Basel and work just out of Zürich.

as a matter of fact my friend has put phosophnie fuses in his t.v and picture has substantially improved. so has his kit when put in the mains leads. i have the hifi tuning fuses and am considering those furutech fuses. be interesting if any one has tried them.

This is exactly the kind of thinking that makes boutique hifi cable manufacturers very happy.

Uhm.. I think this case is very different from boutique hifi cables
For your knowledge I use only balanced Mogami Neglex 2534 as Ic cables and Paul Speltz Anti-Cables as speaker cables...
