There's no reason why the old and new technologies can't co-exist. I'm sure that some HiFi enthusiasts would even consider the uncompressed files good enough to be a main source. Done well this technology could breath life back into the mid-price HiFi market.

Sub £1000 CD players have had a rough ride the last few years with the onslaught of AV. It's high time that HiFi fought back with something really new and fresh not just an update of the same model lines from the last 20 yrs. Who better than the Regas, Myriads, Cyrus's (sp) etc to produce a HD version of a Linn Classik.
