Had mine for a few days now, completely standard, and using Xlr-Rca adaptors to connect it.

well, i have to say that im pretty damm impressed so far, the soundstage and detail it offers over my alpha 8 are quite significant. Itcertainly shows up some of my poorer recordings.

Im pleased with it, but wonder if i could get a bit more of the, well, "groove" back. Not sure what it is really, but i feel im missing something.

Im using a QED p75 digital interconnect, can this be bettered without spending much? Generally in my experience digital cable differences are minimal.

So whats the easiest and most sucessful internal mod to do?

I would think the first mod would be to fit proper RCA plugs.
Then maybe sort a decent PSU....
If you search the forum theres a fairly long thread about modding the superdac with details aplenty

If you want to boost the drive and life of the superDAC, look at new capacitors, regulators and rectifying diodes as well as output stage op amps. If you want to boost detail, look at modding the PLL filter circuit.

I've not actually heard it with the stock wall wart psu, since mine didn't have one. I found that running it off my trichord powerblock with a eupen helped it significantly.

I recently dumped my QED SR75, in comparison to the Acoustic Zen mc2 and LAT digital cables there was very distinct improvement. Granted, these cables are priced in highers brackets than the P75 but the QED was very hard & driect with a noticeable amount of hashy graininess being removed when it was taken out of my system.

I'd still give the superSAC time to bed in though :) .

I should probably just be happy with what i have! afterall, it should improve slightly with more hours on it.

The power supply seems possible for me, although i wouldn't have a clue about changing op amps, capacitors etc

Presumably you choose the same spec but a better quality, or a higher spec component.

Think i'll stick with my QED cable for the meantime:)
