Are CDs from CD Wow also manufactured in the Far East?

I try to buy from the US and Canada mostly, as pressings from those countries usually (but not always) sound better in addition to being cheaper. Strictly speaking, I'm not buying the same product that's available in Europe.

Just checked out their website and product range and I don't think I'll be ordering from them ("OK, what do I buy this week ... Dildo or Snorah ... Snorah or Dildo?").

Their selection is a little broader than that to be fair :) . Oh, and I'm not averse to a bit of Dido as it happens...

As for where the CDs are made I've no idea; how would you find out? If you were to buy a CD from the US could you be sure it had been made there rather than in the far east as well for instance? Just curious.

Martin, sometimes the country of manufacture is stated in the booklet or on the back cover, and almost always on the CD itself (either the printed label or etched around the hole).

Out of interest I looked at a few of the CDs I knew I'd got from CD-WOW last night to see where they were made. Of the eight I looked at two were from Thailand, one from Taiwan, one HongKong, one rather vaguely said "made in the EU" and the other three I couldn't see any info. on. So, in answer to the initial question it looks like they were mainly made in the far east. Whether this will continue to be the case with them now being sourced from within the EU may be a different matter though I suppose.

If it helps any, why not take advtange of the £1 off everything offer here

Good luck to CD-Wow for standing up to the price fixers and those who'd happily continue ripping us off.

I wouldn't mind finding out what country Dido's manufactured in, by looking around her hole...

I guess Amex pay CD-Wow some of the £1 difference. God knows why they'd do that though :)
