    Here's a small reason why.

Here's some more "Truth" from Dr. Joe D'Appolito.

The last product I designed for them was the original X-718BE in 2005.

I requested that they no longer use my name in connection with any products they developed after that date nor any products I did not design during my association with them.

If my name has come up in any way relating to the current issue regarding the BE tweeter, it is without my knowledge or approval.

    Here's what Usher says.

    And in the Absolute Sound:

    No Beryllium. No Dr. Joe.
No Truth in Advertising. No Class

This article made me want to sell my Ushers.

Then I listened to them again. I just love their fake little be tweets. So I'll keep em.

Cheeky Chinese eh! Unlike them to dabble in anything that isn't 100% kosher...

PS: no offence to Chinese people. Just trying to inject some humor into an (at times) sinister thread. I also (really) despise any fraud in whatver shape it's created. It really isn't on. Though the world is simply fraught with it. Still love the speakers though.

if anyone bought their speakers because of the Be tag then more fool them for not using their ears in the first place...

I bought mine second hand. To be honest didnt know (or care) what they were made of (but they look rather nice).

Like you say, pretty much all hifi enthusiasts buy with their ears. Woulda prolly upset me if I had purchased new or due to the material they made a their tweeters out of.

Couldn't care less frankly as these little things kick ass and sound far better than a much more expensive speakers I previously owned (some pretty reputable at that) and for that reason they remain an astonishing bargain depsite their maufacturers 'indiscretions'

It is a slightly disconcerting photo isn't it?!

    NB

I've always had a slight soft-spot for Usher, from the moment I saw these -

Much of USHERs output is questionable. I just don't get the sound at all, I'm sure it has its fans.

Theres a speaker company called USHER too...
