since the industrial revolution the names of a few entrepreneurs or of the companies they created have through this history of this magical world of HI-FIDELITY,most shared ideas in design, bless, point that i would like to know is how many people have bought their "hi-fi" through reviews or looks or just by name, do some of you know how to match your sources,to amps and amps to speakers? or just label buying?

Ever since I was in to hifi inheriting a few separates from my dad I always wanted an audiolab 8000a. I think it was a combination of looks and reputation. But I finally got one and that was the basis. Ive still got it too and although currently unused I can't bear to part with it.

when the m.f. x-ray was brought to me before release i though " NO" it's a toy, but when i took it home and played it i just sat back and fell in love with it's simple looks and wonderful musicality,

In the early stages of my hi-fi-ing I listened at dealers and friends. I then went through the stage of learning which reviewers had similar tastes to mine and used their writings as a starting point.

These days, I tend to look for kit that has a similar design ethos to my core gear, and listen to the opinions of people I trust around the forums.

hi, what are you using at present? and are quite satisfied with the sound you are getting? if so then keep on enjoying it but i know there is always the "bug" effect.

    Two systems:
    MacBook/10.6/Decibel
    M2Tech Young DAC (awaiting a V2)
Eva 2 Volume Control (Passive Pre) with KingRex PSU
    NVA TDS Mk1 Monoblocks
    Royd RR3s

    and

    iMac/10.6/iTunes
    KingRex UD-01 SE DAC/KingRex PSU
    NVA AP20
    Mission 761

Both fed with AIFF files from a Drobo.

I'm so damned happy with both systems that I can't believe it! :)

that is what is about, the pleasure that you get from what you use to listen to music or other, although i am a dealer i get to listen to ,well almost everything but i am very happy with my analogue system as well as digital with the M.F. CLIC.,

That is, indeed, what it's about :)

My last four purchases have been from a dealer, from the manufacturer in the UK, from the manufacturer in the Far East and from the importer. I have nothing against buying from a good dealer, but I just go to whoever is selling what I'm interested in.

    Hi Dave,

Good to see you up and about. Hope everything went well.

Very much agree with your last comment.
Forums can be a nightmare particularly for new posters looking for advice as often they get dozens of contrary responses. Very important to isolate a few characters who's opinions you trust.

    Thanks Rob

It all seems to have gone well. I'm about half-way through recuperation and hopefully will be able to cut out the painkillers in a day or two. I may even start making sense then. Perish the the thought :)

Thanks Nando. The nice man rearranged my innards through some keyholes last week, so the painkillers are a bit necessary atm.
