Sounds sweet. Just need to upgrade speakers now. Just the sound I've been after. Thanks to tenson for pointing me in the right direction.

Might spend my entire 1500 budget on speakers and stay with my Cyrus Cd8x for now

Glad to hear it is what you were after, I thought it might be :)

Does it have enough power for your MAs?

Edited: ahh your picture is showing now, it wasn't before!

No problem driving the MAs - there quite rates at over 90db sensitivity, 8ohm impendence so I think a light load anyway

MAs have sounded better than I've ever heard them. makes me wonder what would happen if I get an even better speaker.

In addition to the LSA2, thought I might listen to som Living voice avatar and maybe something from Dali

    Can't stop smiling :D

Remote doesn't work though (I've put new batteries) :(

    Dev

Sound is warm like tubes but also with resolution/detail
I'm hearing stuff on my CDs I knew was there but couldn't hear with my previous amp ( Cyrus 8vs)

Still interested in listening to your modded DAC - however will have to take you up on borrowing it as this beast weighs almost 90lbs - not planning on moving it again for a while

Will get over to SOM to listen to the speakers though

    Enjoy.

I think that's the best looking Pathos I've seen so far.

Actually yes, I liked the Dali speakers I heard very much. Quite bright treble, but not harsh. I have only heard the more expensive range though... the Helicon? I love their advertising too, class! the LSA 2 might just give you more of what you are after for vocals though.

    Thanks Dev - am enjoying

Have to say the missus was shocked at the sheer size of the amp (after the Cyrus shoeboxes)!!

Am still negotiating how/where to set it up - hence my picture doesn't really do it justice

The Dali Helicons are lovely, but inefficient at about 86db.

Living Voice more like it (or Tannoy/something horny)

Yeah that efficiency thing does limit the choices - but with so many speakers on the market may be a good thing to help me narrow the field down a bit

Have to go fro used/ex-dem to get more value. Of course if I could shift the MA and Cyrus kit that would help

I must confess I am green with envy, is it a hybrid or all valve output stage? Either way I don't doubt it sounds as gorgeous as it looks.
