    Hi,
I've just got a Lneco GL75 and am replinthing it. I'm looking for an arm, nopthing amazing at the moment. I'll get something better later (RB300 maybe, or LVX)
But I've seen an SP16 on ebay. It might fall in my price range (£40 ish). But wherever I read (and ask) I can't get a definitive answer (does it exist though?). What's the Thorens SP16 mkI like? Would it cut the mustard? Is it far inferior to an LVV?

A lot depends on your intended cartridge - my memory is hazy, but I'd expect that the TP16 dates from the time when highish compliance MM cartridges were favoured (I'd think that it housed the likes of the Shure M75ED, for example).

Thorens' arms never were as highly regarded as their turntables.

well haven't chosen a cartridge yet. Should I chose it first you reckon? So is the TP16 not worth going for?

I'll second that ....I've a number of reviews that state the same ....I'd look for a alphason hrs100 or maybe a helius ...but arms like other things are quite personal ...people have there favorites
