    Which thorens TT would be the one to choose? What would you say is the best combination arm-wise, cartridge etc??

    thorens 124, then 125 no question. rega arm on it, wall mount, some oil and new mushrooms and youre ready for many years

    Ouch ....I bought a new one for £60.00 .....back in '81 ! Then fitted it with a Helius standard arm and a Dynavector 10x stuffed many a rega !

    Sadly I was 3 in '81 so my money went on a fisher price TT and some blue plastic records, twinkle twinkle little start has never sounded so good!!

    Seriously, Ive heard a 125 at a show that had been over-hauled and it was good but, and this may be heresay, I dont like the looks and sadly it will be prominent in my lounge. Still, you never know......

    i personally like the looks of the 160.. when fitted with a good SME 3009 arm makes a great combination.. and the old SME arm when sorted out and wired well is better than a basic rega by a long shot (not that i dont love rega arms)
