Can't go wrong if you insist on cash on collection! Strange all the sellers other items are based in the US tho'....., and listed on Aus ebay....

Seems a bit dodgy to me - payment only by bank to bank transfer...

Yep - weird - US based seller (with apparently good feedback) selling an item which is in London, but listing as an Aussie$ sale. Though if it goes for AUS$ 75 he's hardly going to make a bundle as a scam. Worth asking questions I think.

Surely bank to bank could be seen as very secure if the bank is in UK, US or AUS?

Possibly, but there's alleged safeguards with PayPal that are specifically related to Ebay...
With bank to bank xfer I think you'd have to prove you didn't get the goods in a small claims court.

Perhaps the real sellers account has been hijacked.
Unless I can collect an item I'd only buy where Paypal is an option as yo do get some protection.

For the gain of AUS$ 75.00? seems little gain for such effort.

I've been looking on ebay for a new guitar lately, theres been a gibson sg supreme on there listed as france, £1400 ish for a while now but there were also 14 or so listings on there with identical pictures, linking through to the original auction, except these were listed as "??? CHINA" and were selling at less than £200 each (its a pretty rare top of the line £2K guitar, you just don't have 14 of them). Not that I'd even consider bidding but seems like a similar sort of thing, some kind of hijack afair. Pretty low really.
