It's coming out as a double picture disc set though, isn't it? I think they're supposed to be going to town woth some sort of foil sleeve but I'm a bit concerned about shelling out for it and then it sounds naff because of the format.

I don't know anything about it tbh, when I last looked at the tool site it didn't say much. It better not be a picture discs though! They'll ruin everything :/

Its not cheap is it
I'm going to buy it anyway though, even picture disc has to be better than cd. Its a real shame though cuz its a fantastic recording as well as one of the best albums of the decade (so far?)

Follow up to this - my copy finally arrived through the post this morning (with a customs charge of £7.50 above the original price) only to have had the sleeve well and truly wrecked by customs! Arrgghh! Luckily, the supplier is sending me another and has advised I can keep the one I have, so I'm off to play it now - they will be fedexing me a new one today to be with me next week and will also pick up any additional customs fees next time, too, bless 'em. Will report back when I've played it......

I got mine when it came out, pile of crap. Noisy as fk I played through the first record then left it, waste of money. Its not even like the packaging is that great

In spite of the sleeve, mine actually sounds pretty good for a picture disc - it has lower amounts of surface noise than any other picture disc I've ever owned (only has minor 'whooshing' noises between tracks) and both records are perfectly flat, too. Sound is very good too so I wonder if you were unlucky with your copy? I did run mine through the VPI first as a matter of course so that probably helped.

I certainly wasn't expecting 'audiophile' quality when I ordered it and I can't say I'm disappointed, especially as another copy is on it's way to me - after initial disappointment, the damage to the sleeve isn't that bad I suppose, so I may leave the other copy sealed to sell at a later date and have this as my keeper.

Hmmm I don't have a cleaner, maybe that helps, mine is awful, all the bits where they make you wait before the big riffs drop etc. are ruined, it shhhh's all the way through and theres points where you can hear the transition between the normal vinyl to the actual picture.
I'm pretty disapointed really, they're really expensive (saw one in HMV the other day- £45!) its taken years to come out and its always been a cd screaming for a vinyl release, then they go and spoil it. I read something about them thinking people who listen to their records on vinyl are stupid or something, dunno what thats about but I get the feeling they don't really care. Supposedly the track on Aneima with the record sound is having a dig at people with tt's?!

I'd never heard of them, but I've just listened to their samples on the site you linked and that certainly pushes my buttons.
Add to list - thanks lads.
