I've recently been playing "Little Eathquakes" & "Under the pink" and think they're fantastic CD's. I was just wondering if there are any Tori fans who could recommend any other stuff by her in a similar vein to those two (I seem to remember she went a bit dancy after under the pink and I never bought any more of her stuff)

    Cheers

If you enjoyed 'little earthquakes' and 'under the pink' I would then try her latest release, 'scarlet's walk', which is much closer to those two than any of the albums in between.

I still haven't played Scarlet's Walk yet (and I've had it for over a year!!!!). Oops.

Yeah - Boys for Pele etc are to Tori what The Dreaming was for Kate Bush, slightly oddball and VERY different. The Dreaming is an ace album though :)

I have UTP and LE on vinyl - they sound even better than the (already good for CD) CDs :)

Shame Tori has to eat the mic when she sings, so on tracks like Precious Things, it can get a bit harsh and metallic...

Her "Best of.." compilation "Tales of a Librarian" is excellent. She's remixed many songs, re-recorded a couple and thrown in a few new ones (including the outstanding - IMHO- "Snow Cherries From France"). So it's not the run-of-the-mill greatest hits effort.

The sound on this CD is really good, and you have the added advantage of getting some of the best tracks from her less-accessible albums.

Of course, since it's Tori, what you really want is her video compilation. The loss of sound quality on VHS is totally obliterated by the compensation of the visuals... (And I thought I was too old to get crushes?? :D ) And her Madison Square Garden concert is good too, with a great version of "Muhammed My Friend" with the lead singer from Tool.

When oh when will we get these VHS releases on DVD???

    Thats funny.

I find the sound quality on my CD of 'little earthquakes'' pretty dire.

Good songs, but sound quality pap IMO

I'd have to agree - to an extent. While I don't consider it dire, UTP does show it a clean pair of heels. Especially if you play both CD's back to back
