    He was a funky li'l fella who lived life in the fast lane. On the edge and to the max.

    Unfortunately it seems something decided he'd make a nice meal.

    Better to be eaten than fade away.

    How he'd have liked it with his rock 'n' roll lifestyle!

    My dads got four and we have had them for 30 years + and they were fairly big even then. They do need to be looked after especially just after they come out of hibernation. Each year they are taken to the vets for injections of minerals and vitamins which gives them a boost whilst they get back to steady eating. He bungs them in a box with straw and they go in the loft. You do have to check them from time to time especially if we have a warm spell over winter.

    Once out and about, you have to check they are upright for obvious reasons. We have a fair bit of tortoise nookey every year and this is a hoot.
