A friend of a friend has a turntable for sale that i am interested in but he is in germay. He is willing to transport it via a reliable courrier and well packaged but what concerns me is the voltage.

Will i have to get some sort of voltage converter to change it to uk voltage and if so will this effect the playback of vinyl??

Has anyone bought a deck from europe and converted the voltage if so did it effect your playback.

    Regards

Europe in general is the same voltage and frequency mains supplies as the UK. The socketry will be different though so you may need to buy a new plug.

(In the past Europe was nominally 220v and the UK 240v, these have been harmonised to 230v by adjusting the allowable tolerances. I think with a turntable there's nothing at all to worry about.)
