Anyone know anything about powering a dc motor for a turntable.

I know the motor is between 4 and 11 watts, how powerful does a dc motor need to be?

And what about the transformer for the regulator (I have the circuit)
Its either 7 or 9 volts, what about the current rating/VA rating, any suggestions?

    thanks.

id go for a 12 volt 50va transformer, gives plenty of headroom for starting current, and a couple of volts avalible to be lost in the regulator circuit
