I am trying to tune in my Philips NICAM TV so I can use it with my Commodore C64 but I just can't seem to work out how to do it. Does anybody know where I can get instructions to tune my tv from the web?

I have got into a menu that says auto tune but I can't seem tod o anything from there.

C64? You could almost take it to antiques roadshow by now :) My phone is more powerful than a C64!

hehe yes! I think my DVD player is probably 100 times more powerful!

Its my one of my biggest childhood memories so I love it to bits. It is rather basic now though. Mine is 1990 model c.

    My old 486 SX25 could emulate a C64 well!

To me the best thing about the C64 is that lovely SID chip it still sounds 'ok' even today.

SO you must have one of the only C64s with working RAM left on the planet; I know of at least 3 people who've had Commodores (both C64 and Vic20) where the RAM no longer POSTs properly due to age/oxidisation in the chips...

I reckon I might have to dig the BBC-B out of the garage after crimbo - Chuckie Egg on a 28inch widescreen will rule!

Is that the Atari one? I'm thinking of getting one of those...

Asteroids has to be done, and let's face it - the graphics might be rubbish but the game play is infinitely better than anything current (though Doom III should be cool!).

I have read rumours that Tulip (the new owners of the Commdore name) want to make a device like that Atari one of the C64. Not sure if it will ever catch on though.

Maybe my C64 is only still working because it was a later model. The earlier models were more unreliablle. The original model and the model C have completly different motherboards. The new model has less RAM chips than the original, and I think the SID chip was also more intergerated. The model C is about 95% compatable with the original. Some of the games which used unsupport SID functions will not run on the model C.

My dad have the original brown case style one but it blew up.

Why not download a free emulator and games?

I have MAME arcade emulator and 2000 games including Popeye, Pengo, Pacman, Ms Pacman, Paperboy, Galxians, 1941, Space Invaders etc etc

I have Spectrum emulator and games like Atic Atac, Jet Set Willy etc

And I have SNES emulator SNES9XW and EVERY SNES game ever made.. all runs on the PC and exactly mimics the original in ever way... all avaiable for download from kazaa or similar...

Also have Megadrive and Sony Playstation emulators... but haven't played with 'em yet..

I hardly play games yet have nearly 3000 on my PC!

I'm probably thicker than a whale omelette, but where DO you get the ROMs from for the MAME emulator? I downloaded that, but could find sweet FA...??
