Bought a pair of ARC 101 speakers yesterday (unseen) and when they turned up the tweeters were non-original and one was dead. They've been replaced really professionally with KEF SP1192s.
So I'm looking for a pair of either KEF SP1192 tweeters or original ARC 101 tweeters (whatever they were) if anyone has any info on where I could get them or a pair lying around they fancy selling or something?
The problem with the tweeter is (what ive been told is called) the "tinsel wire" joining the voice coil and the terminals is broken. It looks to small to solder - anyone know if this is possible to repair or anyone who repairs drive units?
Any info or advice would be much appreciated because i cant wait to get these speakers up and running.

    Cheers

You could always try ringing KEF directly (or emailing them).

They are very helpful and have most parts in stock

It sounds like you need some spyware removal software. Also download SP2 and it will stop the problem from happening again.

yeah till the script kiddies circumvent sp2 security, so far I haven't bothered, my comp is runnin' sweet and I heaer there are lots of driver issues, and other issues due to paranoid nature of the new firewall, I'll wait till they iron out the bugs :)

Sorry for the change of topic here people. So far I have not had any problems with SP2 apart from issues with my Nvidia drivers, I have replaced that old TNT2 card now anyway with a Radaon 9600 and it works fine.

For the inexperienced user or person who dosn't fully understand how to use the internet (which is probably most surfers) SP2 has some very worth while fixes. I use firefox anyway which is another great way round it.

how right you were - they were very helpful, and had them in stock - £40 for a pair so pretty good I reckon!
Running the ARCs with a random tweeter and an active nytech CTA252XD and CXA252 reciever and power amp and if this is anything to go by im going to be very impressed when i get the new tweeters

To get back to the original question how do you know the replacement tweeters are suitable. Who put them in in the first place, someone who knew what they were doing?
