    hi,

I used to use twin and earth in the 80s. There was a fashion in the mags to use single strand cable. Jimmy Hughes was one of the leading supporters who spread the word.

Twin and earth was (& is) dirt cheap but not very flexible. I quite liked it. It replaced QED 79 strand.

very similar to origin lives twisted solid core ...

if you can manage with better than 15 amp cable ...ie cooker cable is very good against its price ...

the down side is its very stiff and I have in the past poked a tweeter out with it ...

Its not the best cable ...but as previous people have said it works reasonably well...better than the ubiquitous 79 strand ....

don't use any stranded versions though ...only solid core

the earth can be used to double up the negative speaker return.

Alternatively nip down to maplin and buy a reel of 0.9mm dia magnet wire [wire wrap] the insulated sort ..stuff used for transformers. This is ridiculously pure for its purpose ...take six to nine length twist together sleeve and repeat to make the two cores for each of your speaker cable. Sleeve each then gently twist together and add your prefered choice of terminal and you have a cable that will embarrass a number of the more expensive offerings...... cost well it aught to be less than £30 total

Excel 4 will be fine. Plenty of copper in Cable Talk so one length will do.
