I'd be interested to know whether people had their http://news.bbc.co.uk/ set to 'UK' or 'International' Version.

    Regards
    Steve (International)

Well, I mean I access bbc through the main bbc homepage and have that left to the default UK version.

Why? I mostly go there to check the football news :)

i'm with tenson here, news just seems 'designed' to depress and further the neo-con ideal of all of us cowering in out mortgaged to the hilt caves shivering in fear of bird-flu, muslems, immigrants, politicians who have sex, even children for gods sake, etc.
i actively avoid the news, the closest i aim to get is page 3 and dear dreardry in the sun when i visit the barbers. i'm not quite there yet thanks to those bloody 1 minute news bites on bbc3 and channel 5 if i'm not fast enough with the remote and i sometimes suffer if i'm round a mates house.
head in the sand you say? maybe. but i'm happy and not many can say that these days.
    cheers

I have bookmarked and use both. I've been a big fan of the World Service for as long as I can remember (on SW) and it was natural to want its site. What's really annoying for my wife (who also likes to listen) is that the World Service SW broadcasting to Europe is now severely curtailed, so one now has to get a satellite radio and pay!

I rarely use it - except when some (on here for example) informs me of a funny / relevant story on there...

UK by default, now switched to International version. As Tenson and Julian have said, news if depressing but we need at least one good source.

The international page; also use Google news (world) quite a lot.

Julian, what on earth are you talking about?

There's no mention of any of that in my "10 Easy Steps to Becoming a Neo-Con" manual. :D

I do not have either site bookmarked but take the RSS feeds from both and view in Mozilla Thunderbird. My radio is tuned to the World Service whenever I have a free moment mostly to catch the international and financial news coverage. The world service news is an ideal background filler rather like someone reading my RSS feeds to me:)

I have developed an addiction to news which is actually slowly driving me insane (more insane). It's bad but I can't give it up.

UK version. But to be honest I never even noticed there was more than one version ! I don't actually look at the site very often. I rely on the TV for the news.
