I was just having a dream last nite about being a poor audio signal!!

think what this poor little fella has to do...

starts off as the molecule in a record groove or cd analogy, gets subjected to all sorts of vibrations and resonances, coming thro the chassis, bearings, speakers banging away, then has a force equal to tons per square inch pressed down into it, gets picked up thro the magnet of a pickup, squeezed down those tighter than a chinese virgins c*** tonearm leads, into the preamp whoooo gets its freqency beefed up and chopped off in the riaa, round and round the volume control, ouch all this his and crackle of noise added, phwew down some more thin interconnect leads into the power amp, distortions added, oooh that was hot, gets heated up by some BIG really hot valves or simply hot transistors, thro capacitors, phasored pyeow, slowed down due to slew rate limiting, cut up and fed back thro the feedback loop, back into the dark tunnel of speaker leads, and ouch chopped up again and phase shifted into the crossover and then the voice coil of a speaker, magnetic pressure, into the diaphragmforced out into a room, and up some poor persons ear, auditory canal and nerve and into their brain:D

    uncoloured:D

It's all a bit like single-lens reflex cameras and Swiss mechanical watches - it amazes me that they work at all, never mind as well as they do.
