Unico???

Thought I would as kthis here rather then on my usual Naim/Pinkfish board.

I thinking of trading in my Naim 112/150 for an integrated, and I've read a lot of the Unico. One has come up locally (it's the regular, not the SE). i also understand that there are US outfits that mod these into something really special.

My speakers are AP Virgos, not the most efficient, by my 50W 150 handles them pretty easily.

Has anyone determined if this amp lived up to its hype??

I've had the chance to listen to the Unico and compare it to my own amp.
(Naim Nait-2)

It's a nice amp, but a little too smooth/polite for my taste.
Me and a friend (who also owns a Nait-2) had the same opinion about the Unico.

A good, if not great amp. (not living up its hype,imho)
The 14year old little Nait-2 sounded more transparent, detailed, lively and involving.

So,...I'd be much surprised if you'd find the Unico an improvement over your 112/150!
