Got the KR's from a chap called Rod Burman in Isle of Wight. They sound superb.

Says 20wpc on the tin, but I've replaced the stock 845's with (excellent) Shuguang 845B's (and all the other tubes too in fact). These run a little cooler and probably have lower output power. The speakers I'm using are fairly efficient (8ohm 91dB) and they seem to get on just fine.

Still get really scared turning them on though. I know'll they'll toast me one of these days :)

    Oh I dunno DT.

labour, parts, profits - it's all lower on chinese-direct products.

No need to assume its pants just because it doesnt pay some fat boy ferrari owning audiophile mark up merchant in richmond..

I doubt you'd ever get 20W out of it, particularly if viewed through a scope- I know some of the chinese transmitter amps won't really go beyond 15 and breakup below there, realistically giving about 12W. The manufacturer quoted outputs can be very liberal.

I had a listen to the Allnic 300b pushpull mono amps. I was amazed at the scale and the dynamics from them. I never like 300b amps before. But now I think i will have to investigate.

    Anu,

The whole system was fantastic. I would like to have that system for myself including the cessaro horns. I heard them at the munich show and I thought they were one oft he best at the show even in less then perfect conditions. I hate to admit it I even liked the look of the horns.

I will though have to investigate the 300b amps with other speakers to see how well they perform against other amps that i know very well.

This has to be the craziest SET using 833a valves with sparks flying out of the top. I think the CE mark consultants would cry.
