ok. Say you have a integrated amp and 2 speakers but curious about the whole 5.1 thing?
What you need are centre speaker, rear speakers and a subwoofer. Oh, and an amp. But you dont' want an amp to replace your existing one...just one to take care of movies whilst your front speakers continue their role.

    ok, step one
5.1 amp with full preouts to feed to your existing stereo amp. Also has 6ch in for SACD/DVD-A. Composite, S-Video switching, glow in the dark, learning remote, instruction manual, around 80wpc or so but will drive pretty much any mainstream AV speaker system :)

    step 2
    Tannoy MC centre speaker
    [IMG]
two 4 inch woofer, soft dome tweeter. The best sounding centre speaker i've heard sub £150. no b/s...that is the truth. Comes with full black fabric grille and IS BOXED
This speaker takes charge of the speech and actually around 75% of a movies soundtrack so you need a good speaker!

    step 3
    Tannoy MR rear speakers
    [IMG]
2 way, 8 ohm small speakers. They have wall lugs incorporated into the design to make wall mounting much easier :)
These speakers are your surround (rear) effect speakers. They don't do an awful lot of work, but are tonally matched to the centre speaker to make effects going around the room that bit more seamless :) Standard single wire terminals. BOXED. Allegedly there is a slight bit of damage to the backs, but nothing severe. Awaiting photos

    step 4
    Tannoy MSub10 subwoofer
This is the fun part ;)
10 inch long throw bass driver, 150W amplifier, heavy, well made enclosure. Great sound

again, comes BOXED and with grille. It is quite selective about mains leads- you will need to have a screened one or there may be some hum from the transformer- these mains leads are around £10 from ebay.

these items were ALL BOUGHT NEW
So, price for amp, centre, rear and sub?
    £250ono

Very close to my setup. If you are prepared to split I would be interested in the sub?

ok. The items are located in Ipswich, Suffolk.

The rears we will sell for £25 + p&p. There is a rip in the grille cloth of one and a mark on one of the woofers. This doesn't affect the sound quality at all.
The centre is going for £40 + p&p
The sub for £100 + p&p that INCLUDES a £30 QED Qontour subwoofer lead
    The amps £100 + p&p

I have photos of the actual speakers that I will post tomorrow
