In a vaguely cinematic moment on sunday morning i discovered that our little friends had punctured my little girl's paddling pool and as a strange twist bitten the fingers off the left hand of her favourite dolly. Now the Gun Shop in Catford has become a coffee bar it's difficult to know what to do about the little bleeders. And they make such a racket.

any ideas ( all ready got a new paddling pool)

Maybe lion dung.... apparently you can get it from the local zoo (in dry powder form) and sprinkle it around your garden and it keeps just about everything away. Also garden centres sell stuff made from it, but I've found they are not terribly effective at keeping dogs and cats away.

Or piss round the outside perimeter of the garden... sounds nasty but it apparently works very well.

I feel sorry for them, their natural habitat has been estroyed and the wheely bin seems like a nail in their coffin. I do sympathise with the noise they make, why not play some music to drown it out?

Sorry, can't help with the foxes, but is the splendidly-named 'House of Nets' still trading in sunny Catford?

We had issues with various creatures - foxes made a home in our shed, their offspring would sunbathe at the end of the garden not a care in the world, rats then took residence under the shed, grazing carefree on the lawn, badgers would attack the bins, then a bloody nest of bumble bees under the decking FFS!.

I bought a PIR triggered, high freq. audio thingy. First two weeks didnt seem to make much difference thereafter no problems whatsoever. Cant imagine it has much effect on rats or bees, but no more foxes or badgers.

Only problem now is the bunch of enormous ravens - they attack the local squirrels - we live in fear.

    Or get a dog...
Our local foxes give our house a wide berth due to the pack of slavering hounds we've got!

Foxes are dirty, mangey horrid things who will kill for the sheer pleasure.

I must have sent at least 50 of them to an early grave with the shotgun.

They are scum and should be eradicated from the face of the earth.

    Regards

For a start, they are part of the greater plan of things (no not religeous).
You may find the reason the become a pest is because we (mankind) infringe into their natural habbitat. Every animal has its place, until we upset the ballance.
Did you enjoy killing the animal that enjoys killing?

    That is not an answer.

Ask any farmer what he thinks of foxes who will slaughter a dozen lambs for the sheer hell of it.

A fox has no use at all, it does nothing useful and serves no purpose at all, rather than to kill. If you do not believe me, ask a farmer.

Yes I did enjoy shooting the fox, just think how many lambs I have saved.

    Regards

    Yes it is

Are you a farmer? If not that is irrelevant. A farmer is only concerned with his lively hood.

As i said, you have no idea. The use of a fox is too reduce other pests, IE rats etc. Because we have interferred with the natural ballance and removed the natural prey of the fox we are to blame. Idiots with guns who kill for pleasure have a lot to answer for.

Then you are, by your own deffinition a "dirty, mangey horrid things who will kill for the sheer pleasure".

    Regards
    Andy
