Ok - I've used Pete's Ag/Au interconnects and found them great. I'm not a fan of freebie interconnects and have tried "pro audio" cable - by all means go for canare / Mogami or whatever Studiospares or Blue Jeans are offering....BUT.... I'd also try, as a start some Kimber cables (available from that great salesman Russ Andrews on a 60 day trial (yes - money back/ no questions asked etc) in your system.
You may be surprised. In fact - I was - give it a go !!

there are two companies thar offer bang for the buck in ICs. They are Homegrown Cables and MAC [ My Audio Cables ] Inexpensive and very affective. These are the first Silver cables IMO that do not sound thin or over detailed. Well worth a try.

I had some Homegrown speaker cable - very nice, braided construction a bit like Kimber 8TC.

Good advice. Be careful of those seemingly bearing gifts.

DNM Reson interconnects are great IMHO. Years ago it was the first cable i heard that made an improved difference.

14.99 for the fancy RCAs, Maplin's gold plated phonos are about a tenner and their plain ones in-store are less, maybe a fiver.

I compared two similar £1k DACs back-to-back, one using £500 Nordost i/c and one w/ a £5 Maplin (cos I'm cheapskate). The Maplin-connected DAC was unanimously the winner, which isn't to rubbish the Nordosts but equally don't assume a cheap i/c will hurt your system's performance.

For £5 of fun pick up the cheapest Maplins and compare against the new i/c you chose.

On the other hand you could go to Maplins rather than buying of an internet salesman plying his trade through forums. Chord interconnects have a resale value.
