van den hul the wind mk 2 query?

Hi all,
need your advice please.
Recently borrowed some VDH Wind Mk2 to try & see if I like etc, certainly sounds better than my prev cable, howqever, upon looking at it, it would appear that the cable (which is held together with cable ties) is running in the up direction > on the red + line and down direction < on the _ black line, is this normal? Its not just my stupidity , as they have terminated with different plugs at each end and they are "tied" in their pairs. Interested and intrigued - is this a cabling technique of which I was unaware?

Is this the cable that he farts on to improve "air & space" in the soundtage?

 

i thought this was his "burped on" cable actually, but i believe he has given it "special" treatment, but it still looks incorrectly wired up to me,
