They did my mates Fiesta (luckily it took me 2 secs to fix), my neighbours Mondeo MK1, a neighbours Honda 2000 somthing (sports car), and an MX5.

My dads mirror is hanging off, he has taped it for now but it needs a new mirror, it has lots of cables go into to it although not electric ones.

Is it going to be a big job to replace it?

Nope shouldn't be, 3 bolts (usually) holding it on, taking the inside cover off will reveal the bolts. The problem is if the mirror cover is painted, is finding one the same colour or if the cover isn't damaged you could try to swap it over.

What a pain though a? but a comon problem these days.

For the adjustment, you can adjust it about 8 different ways, its a lot more complicated than the mirrors you can on basic cars. The cable is a tension cables are tension cables not electric cables.

The mirror is black so any MK7 Escort mirror would do should be plenty in the scrap yards now.

We had a spate of vandalism a few years back in the end I went to the police and had a go about it with them, people would phone to report but not go down to the cop shop.

They said what I have told them was very useful and confirmed what they already suspected, the vandals (they were 16-20)were warned and it stopped until now.

    breakers your best bet then.

    I'd birch the bastards.

( You know Kafka's 'Metamorphosis' where the main character turns into an giant insect - well I think that's me - only I'm turning into Mick Parry!)
