    All,

I need some help from someone who knows their video stuff, a colleague has a Sony home theatre system with a S video and composite outputs and uses a Panasonic TV.

The problem he has is that imported DVDs will only play in colour using the composite output.

He has a S video to scart lead going into the TV's RGB socket but it plays in black and white on these discs.

    Can anyone tell me why?

    Thanks

    Jools,

Some TV's listed as being NTSC compatible, are only so when using the composite input. They do not include the correct board for format conversion on S video. Bloody Annoying.

I had the same prblem with a Sony some years ago. I used RGB as this seemed to work OK.
