    Villancico de Navidad
    (Christmas carol)
    - For 2024 Christmas & New Years

    Composer: Agustín Barrios (1885 - 1944)

Agustín Pío Barrios (also known as Agustín Barrios Mangoré and Nitsuga—Agustin spelled backward—Mangoré; May 5, 1885 – August 7, 1944) was a Paraguayan virtuoso classical guitarist and composer, largely regarded as one of the greatest performers and most prolific composers for the guitar. The piece "Villancico de Navidad" was composed on December 23, 1943 and dedicated to the child Martita Curias Arias, this beautiful "Christmas Carol" carried the dedicatory phrase "The angels from Heaven sing to Martita during her days". A Christmas carol is a carol on the theme of Christmas, traditionally sung at Christmas itself or during the surrounding Christmas holiday season.
