I own the Vincent Sheng Ya T100 Hybrid class A/B mono blocks and would like to try changing the valves in them but after emailing a few places for advice haven't really got very far. I am happy with the sound but if it is a relatively inexpensive excersise I would like to give it a go to see the effect this has on the sound.

I have not owned an amplifier with valves in before.

Each mono block has the following tubes:
    1 x 6Z4, 1 x 6N6, 1 x 6N1

The manufacturer's specs on these amps are here:
    http://www.vincent-tac.de/en/product-types/poweramplifier/sp-t100.html

The 6Z4 has an American equivalent but is this safe to use in place of the stock Chinese 6Z4?

The 6N6 and the 6N1 I can't find much information on.

Is it a bad idea to attempt tube rolling with these amps?

    Has anyone tried it themselves?

    Many thanks

I believe julian2002 has these amps. He doesn't post here very often, so try PMing him.

    Thanks,

Yes I have already Pm'd him a while ago but havent had an answer I assumed that maybe he doesn't log on anymore.

I read an old thread he posted about trying out the mono blocks whilst I was deciding whether to go for them or not.

Hi give Ian Large a call at Alium Audio. He has a big stock of NOS valves and new and knows a fair bit about them. Tube rolling can be a great way to alter and improve the sound of your kit, but it is possible to get a poorer sound as well.

    Regards D Louth 77 :)
