    I'd be well up for it, but:

    ...translates roughly (in my mind) to:

    "We want the best people but don't want to pay the going rate, and we're having difficulty convincing people that they want to work for buttons"

    In any case, Google might be better off recruiting straight from academia as that way they can 'shape' the minds of their 'resources' better (apologies for the soulless, insensitive corporate-speak)
