Not at that price, but it IS gorgeous :)

If I could do an "Akai" on it (got my CR81D in mint condition for £20 in 1998 - they go for >£120 on Ebay now) I'd be up for it though - it's really nice...

Looks amazing, but £295 that's got to be too much. You could always buy it and forget the zebras and the goldfish Cookie;)

Damn, that's a beauty. I'm tempted, but have absolutely no use for it.

£295 ain't too much chaps - this baby cost more than that back in the late 70's. This ain't a bad price, plus complete with original paperwork/box etc and mint condition - darn, i'm talking myself into it.....

What remotely comparable amp would you be able to buy now for a few hundred quid. Might ask him, if he'll take a nad for it...

Only thing is, i reckon you'd need something like a zebra in order to support its massive bulk. Unfortunately for me, i'm not allowed both.

Make sure it's a double-headed coin and that you guess it'll be heads.

So, when can I come over to see it then? :D

Spoke to the guy first Dom for 15 mins - nice bloke - guranteed its condition and operation. Seemed very genuine. Does a lot of servicing himself as well, been doing so for years. He bought it off the original owner - had very little use apparently, and in mint condition. He has loads of goodies besides this - just seen his website........Marantz oscilloscope anyone?! Says he only buys excellent examples - also trying to build up his own system as a sideline.

Oh well, done it now, just hope i haven't done a penance :D ;)

Man you guys are bad :D I had a few customers like you lot, when I did Italain cars, some would just buy early 70's purple hairdressers cars, to stare at on the lawn, spend thousands on these ricketty, under powered, tea-trolly handling, no brakes to speak of (except the Flintstone style), rust bucket vehicles, that they thought made em' look cool, must be she same in hifi  still don't run it with the dac 20, you'll be listening to the radio all the time then :) Wm

I am going to go against the grain here and say that it looks truly awful, and probably sounds even worse than it looks:eek:

    Cheers WM

Good job its got a decent 'radio' in it then. Still, suppose it looks better than a NAD if nothing else :D

I'm not sure how 30Kg of receiver, and battleship build quality (with walnut side cheeks :D ), equates to 'rickety' though, even if it sounds crap and makes me into a pimp.

    I'm slipping deeper into serfdom.........

Lots of people find it ugly :)

How have you any idea though as to what it sounds like? , other than equating old to shit in a direct relationship?

oh well....looks like Ian maybe the only paying customer :D

Always wanted a monster receiver........but i am half wop, so that probably explains it

Well, for a start all of the caps will probably have dried out and will likely need replacing. Therefore I suspect it may sound dull, undynamic, with a lack of detail for a start:p
