vinyl to ipod - possible?

    i would not be surprised if this question has been posed before.
    is there a relatively efficient way of transferring my lps to my ipod.

    I suspect no method is as efficient as you want as the only way of getting anything onto your iPod is from your computer. So a USB thingy (M-Audio I think) to record your vinyl to computer and transfer as normal.

    MUffin a cheaper method is to use the tape output on your stereo into the audio in or your computer.

    For mac there is a freeware programme called Spark, no doubt there are hundreds for the PC which allows import of audio for editing.

    However it is then up to you to sit whilst the record plays and chop it up at the end, tag it etc.

    I usually import a whole side then chop the tracks down, but to be honest I kind of got board of the whole affair. It sounds fine though

    thanks guys. i have since discovered a few programs which appear to do the job well enough. all i have to do now is cart my gyro into the lounge and labour through 300+ lp's. it's that or buy all the cd's. bummer.
    i'll let you know how i got on in about 6 months!!
