    Kev,

I had a problem a few years ago where someone bought a kitchen on my Barclaycard - ironically enough, only a couple of weeks after I'd done the same thing. Turned-out it was a result of someone "double-swiping" the card in my local petrol station and using the details to shop via phone.

Barclaycard sent me a dispute form to complete and the amount in question remained "frozen" on my balance until the investigation was concluded. By frozen, I mean it remained on my balance, but I didn't pay it off and didn't incur any interest charges for not doing so.

From memory, I think it took 4-6 weeks to resolve.
