I'm after suggestions for a 2nd hand wall-mountable CD player
...or a top loader which wouldn't mind being screwed to a wall so that it turned into a front loader.

It's for a bedroom system, so ultimate sound quality is not important, but substantially good sound quality is important. No £60 Argos specials here.

In terms of functionality and target price a 2nd hand Denon UD-M3 would be ideal, but because of where I'd like to locate it, ideally I want to mount it flush to a wall rather than having something that sticks out on a shelf. I can relatively easily find an old receiver which I can wall mount.

I'm looking for some type of 2nd hand bargain, but I'm interested to know what's also available new.

Suggestions welcome

The only one I can think of thats designed that way is the B&O unit....you know the one with the doors that open when you wave your hand in front of them, [or when the cat , postman , blue bottle, snail pass by]. My brother has one, it sounds ok ...that is it blends in to the background with out sounding awful.

sony did a system- cmtex1 i believe which sounded good and was front loading.

Or there's the other B&O one that takes 6 CD's - Beosound 9000. The wife and i love ours!

Mind you, it doesn't usually sit well with the phrase "second hand bargain" :D

You could get a sony diskman and pritstick it to the wall?
Now that's the sort of lateral thinking I like.

Suggestions pretty well as I suspected (thanks for them all)
... but I wondered if someone could think of a top-loader with angled controls on the front so that it may be visible/useable if wall mounted.

I'm quite tempted by an older B&O receiver for wall mount mounting, but can't identify a separate CD player.

The Philips CD-101 was toploading with angled controls...

I doubt if it will work at a 90 degree angle. This problem exists with most players I think. Better to use a player that is intended to work like that.
