Wanted Dac for my Squeezebox

*Looking for a Dac for my newly purchased Squeezebox 3
*Ideally mint and boxed
*Seller can ship or I will collect (Midlands)
*Don't want to spend too much ie looking for D.Shek Nos/Flying Cow/Dpa etc
*I need something that will make a difference in my Linn Aktiv Keilidh system

You may like to have a look at my website in my signature. The Modified Behringer stuff is the perfect partner for the SB3 IMO. The SRC2496 gives the same sound quality as the modded DEQ2496 that was reviewed by TNT Audio, but at a more affordable price.

just bought an electrocompaniet ECD1 DAC, so have 3 other DACS just hanging around :

Beresford DAC , Derek Shek NOS DAC v2, offers considered, also have a Meridian 563 DAC, nice-sounding plush Meridian sound, better than Meridian 566 in my opinion, coaxial or balanced digital inputs only (not optical) , £180 for this .

my order of preference purely on sound for these DACS

1) Electro DAC
2) Meridian 563
3) Beresford DAC
4) Shek NOS DAC

- 'bargains' such as beresford DAC & Shek NOS DAC still don't outshine the more expensive DACS, in my opinion

 

Maybe interested in the 563... i am thinking it maybe a good foil for the brightness of the squeezebox...is it boxed, in mint condition and in 100% working order.... where are you based

i'm in NW London can dem - its in good condition no feet though! (use cones) - don't have original box but could box & send. or if you're down in london at some point welcome to dem / view

 

I had a Nos dac - but wasn't impressed at all...sold it mon after a week or so - my MF one is spot on, I'm using with my dvd player (as cdp is kaput) and the music still sounds great...

 

Thanks teaseme..but a bit far for me and I did want to collect...

Still looking for something in the Midlands area...
