Having been recently the victim of a malicious and baseless complaint to my employers, from a person who is, for reasons of geography, unlikely to ever become a patient of mine, I can sympathise with this doctor.

My HR department, and several managers, some of who are practising clinicians, had to spend a considerable amount of time investigating this complaint. Their conclusions were that:

a) there was no need to pursue the matter any further, and

b) the complainer was "a nutcase"

Fortunately for me, I have sensible managers.

Thats a shity thing Mr Devil, sounds like a looper.
Kay had a complaint against her a few years ago, from a patients partner. Completely unsubstantiated but still causes stress

Because of the rather unusual nature of the complainer and complaint, they kindly investigated it without making me aware of it until the end of the process.

The complainer contacted me recently and made it clear that he would have been very pleased indeed if I had lost my job.

At least after one failed attempt his game is known, and so hopefuly he wont be able to do anything else
