    For Sale: Wavac MD300B amp

Never thought I'd sell this but is now surplus to requirements.

A rare opportunity – these just simply do not come up for sale second-hand or ex-dem very often – infact I have never seen one advertised other than new. Very high end SET amp and in mint condition, boxed with original glass shield. RRP is around just under £5000 depending on dealer.

Legendary integrated valve amp which can also be used as a power amp with a high end preamplifier which opens it out even further. 3 inputs, passive volume pot. 10 watts per channel – google and there's a lot of information out there, Wavacs are rather special Japanese design up there with Kondo, Shindo etc. This unit is about 3 years old, one previous owner who bought it when he lived in the USA and stored it when he returned to the UK a year ago, before selling to me – so little use – maybe 12 months in all. One other advantage is that this is a 120 volt model – so takes advantage of a better power supply using a high quality step down transformer which I will include in the sale.

Possibly the best SET 300B amp on the planet.

Priced to sell, no offers £2250 – PM if interested.

From Jack Roberts: Let me end the review by sharing the two things this amp does that are very important to me.

1.Voices. I have always known that how an audio component does voices is the deciding factor for me. This amp lets you hear small nuances in voices. It lets voices swell into big moments without loosing those nuances or straining. With the Audio Note M5 pre-amp, there is a natural weight to voices that lets them just sound real.

2.Quiet Passages. As much as I've always known how important voices were to me, I never even thought of quiet passages as part of the audiophile experience; but we all know that they are a big part of live music. As easy as this amp sails through big passages, it has a magic with quiet passages that I had never before imagined. I guess it's because of the quietness of the amp; but when the music gets soft and quite there is no desire to turn it up, because you can still hear all of the delicacies and nuances that are there without having to crank the amps so that loud passages are too loud.â€Â

    Highly Recommended!!

    The Verdict

“The WAVAC MD-300B is a great single ended amplifier possessing a level of detail and accuracy that should keep most listeners happy for a lifetime (unless you get the itch to buy an EC-300B). “

“If you are already a fan of the SET sound and it's associated requirements, or if you are in search of a different grail than the one you are currently pursuing, I urge you to give the MD-300B a listen.
    Highly recommended.â€Â

I would have thought fine as I used these with a 92 db pair of Zingali's. As above can I ask any enquiries to be via PM as that way am notified of any questions. Thanks.

Really surprised this has not yet sold, a more than fair price for a nice amp
