Well I know its an odd question, but I goggled it and came up with nothing (actually it gave me a pretty good fan-script of a Buffy story!..).

Anyway, I cut myself tonight, and having nothing better around the house, I grabbed some white vinegar to sterilize the wound. Needless to say it stung a little bit. It made me wonder though, how come sterilizing a wound only hurts once?! If you do it again after the first time to make sure its nice and clean, it doesn't hurt at all. Does it burn out the nerves or something?

    Merry Christmas Simon!

Next time you're in town, get a little bottle of tea tree oil. One drop in a saucer of water is all you need. Much better than vinegar. Alternatively, get lavender oil which is almost as good and can be applied neat to burns and scalds.
