I know we've had mini tornados before but 2 and this powerfull what is going on?
Floods, lightning storms and tornados, all we need now is an earthquake or volcano and we'll have a full house!

Terrorists? Asylum Seekers? Immigrants? Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Chinese?

Recent strength of the dollar has caused too many US tourists to come to Britain. May be they brought US weather with them!

Who knows! Somebody must be blamed!

Well there was no warning and there is no reasoning with it, but so far its not killed anyone. :p

Well I wouldn't put it past them being the cause since they're one of the biggest polluters, but I don't have evidence or a link to back it up so.....

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/west_midlands/4725279.stm - Ihatkins your link didn't work so I have reposted it.

I hope the brummies are ok. Just 80 miles up north from Birmingham where I am the wind seems very still its very clalm out there, it wasn't even windy when I went out to get the paper. Its been raining a bit but then its July.

    Only a Dust Devil

A few years ago whilst fishing a small private lake just a few miles outside of Warwick sometime towards the end of summer I encountered a Dust Devil. The weather was slightly overcase, warmish and a bit sticky and when glancing up froim the lake surface I noticed a bluring at the end of the lake and after a bit of a squint I realised this was a dust devil heading down the lake edge in my general direction. The funnel of air was filled with small twigs, water sprey, leaves and other small bits of spinning stuff all contributing to a general light brown cast and the top seemed about level with the bending and swaying tops of the bankside trees. Was I worred?, not just a bit spellbound by the approaching funnel of rising air, the sudden chill and the growing waves on the now choppy lake surface. Before the twisting serpentine like spout reached my bit of the shore it zoomed off through the woods with a "woosh"and was never seen again.

Sounds like it was pretty hardcore, just spoken to a family member who lives about 1/4 mile from the Sparkbrook area and he said it was just like a loud clap of thunder and the sky went very black for a while... a lot of mess though going by pictures on the local news. He didn't get any photographs or actually see it himself though... lives on the wrong side of the block of flats for that.

Strange that Birmingham always seems to get this kind of thing, and the odd earthquake as well.
