    Ian,
I tried to obtain a pair, after the B H 2's were tried in the room, and the result was our local demolision specialist heard about the result, and asked if they could hire them.
The guys we use in the states, had made the same suggestion as youself, Shipping proved to be a bug bear for those selling, none seemed to want to ship out of the US, so It ment 2 doses of airway bills.
I don't believe Avid have any knighthawkes though I could be wrong?, I would want to hear them first before committing, I've purchased a pair of Ospreys to 'Fill' in for now, first impressions more tonal correct than the shearwaters when 'Virgin & unmolested', plus a more robust sound and deeper lower orders too.
So a great start point Ian, I'm sure I can coax a little more from them. T.

    Hi All,

I stumbled on ZeroGain by chance when Google-searching the web for info on NAD S300 / S500 combo. A store here in Paris had a few at a bargain price, and although demo conditions were substandard, I thought it sounded great.

Found the thread here dedicated to the subject quite enlightning. Thanks to all for the input.

So current kit is S300 / S500i + MB Quart floorstanders.

    Will keep visiting

S300 + S500i is a really great sounding little combo.

    Michael.

    Hi Michael

Yes, I love it. Beats what I had before. My speakers of 15 years have suddenly come alive

As for the alias, I used to have a small yacht of the Excalibur class (a design of the sixties) named Galaad.

First name is Renaud, pronounced like Renault ...

    Regards

I'm afraid not. I didn't realize he made it across the Channel either.

If you like what he does, your French must be quite good ! :D

No he didn't make across la manche, but I did.
Unfortunately, the freins on my quatrelle didn't work very well and I couldn't stop in time...

Been reading your words of wisdom for a while now so come to say hello.
    System is Cyrus CD6~Dual Cs505-2~GramAmp 1~CyrusC6~Cyrus Smartpower~PMC DB-1
Only recently been getting back into the things that were once thought of as 'Long Playing' so the Dual is my original TT and is fine while I re-assemble a record collection. Listening is largely classical with jazz and current stuff too: last shopping trip resulted in Elgar, Sibelius, Cannnonball Adderly, Miles Davis and Talking Heads on CD, Richard Strauss, Brahms and a couple of musicals on 2nd hand vinyl (have been reading the recent vinyl cleaning threads with interest, is there a definitive view in the archive ?)

    Hi

Hello all, just thought I would post here and introduce myself. Also a new member @ PFM, though managed to cause quite a stir with just one post, so I shall remain a little more reserved here for the sake of peace and happiness.
system as below, simple, uncluttered, musical and sublime..

    Hello and Thanks

Just Signed up, Bought a pair of X-A50's from analoguekid and he mentioned the forum.

Been reading the posts of other peoples systems, some lovely gear around in this place. Can see being a member here aint going to do my wallet no good at all..

    My system last week was:

    Arcam Alpha 8R
    Arcam Alpha 8P
    Arcam Alpha 7R Transport
    MF X-24k DAC
    MF X-PSU
    Arcam Alpha 7 Tuner
    Project Debut
    Mission 733's

About as Wife friendly as you can get.

But due to a bout of ebayitus its now:

    Arcam Alpha 7R Transport
    MF X-24k DAC
    MF X-PSU
    MF X-Pre
    MF X-A50's
    Arcam Alpha 7 Tuner
Project Debut (No phono stage yet)
    Mission 733's

Next round of upgrades will probably be an Audio Note CDT Zero, New DAC (possibly), lp12 and a phonostage.. not the X-LP.. My rack is beginning to look like a nuke storage bunker with all the little alloy tubes! Then Junk the Missions. No ideas for what yet though

Anyways, thanks to analoguekid for the X-A50's, Going from the full Arcam system to the x-pre/A50's has blown my mind. I cant get over how good they sound. Even my better half is impressed!
