    Hi Alan,

Good to hear from you. You're quite right - the CD7 has been doing just fine since I bought it from you. :) It is a fantastic CD player. Having said that, I think I'm about to put it up for sale, as I have just bought a TacT room correction preamp, and I don't think I can justify having a player of the quality of the CD7 if it's just to be used as a transport. So if you know anyone who might be interested...

I really like the Van den Hul amps - very clean, high resolution devices. They seem to do most things very well. Can't ask much more than that! ;)

    Of course I am :D :)

Actually this is genuinely the first time I have been on here and I was really surprised how similar the topics and threads all are. I'll have to think of something new and interesting on mine. Cool forum BTW!

Mind you we already share most of our users by the look of it anyway!

    Cheers
    James. :D :buddies:

    Hello ZeroGain,

I'm just like Alco a Dutchman. We know eachother from the Dutch Hear Forum. I'm very glad he bought a turntable at last!

I listen to an Oracle Mark V turntable with Graham 2.1 and Benz L2, Conrad Johnson Premier 17LS and 11a and Monitor Audio 20 SE. Tuner is my old Quad FM 4 and my CD a Meridian 506.20. Kimber PBJ's and 4 TC.

I'm looking for a new phono amp. My Lehmann Black Kube is not up to the Oracle combination. Phono amps are difficult to get on loan base. That makes it difficult.
At the moment I'm also trying to upgrade my Thorens 160.1 It's a nice job for an absolute non- technician.

I like different kinds of music from Dutch cabaret to pop music.

I promise you a photo. But I will not buy a digital camara untill Santa Claus.

    Hi folks,
Recognise a few names on here from pfm, etc. Always on the lookout for music recommendations, etc. My bargain-basement system has been the same for years, I never seem to find the cash to upgrade, largely due to wife / daughter / grandson / home / beer / computer upgrades / etc, you know how it goes...

    Denon TU260 II
    Systemdek 2X2 / RB300 (unmodded) / Dv10x4 / LFD Mistral
    Cyrus dAD1
    PC

    into

    Cyrus Straightline / Heybrook Optimas

    or

WNA Headphone amp / Beyer DT150's

Apart from repairing the cd player (laser), I need to upgrade the amp / speaker combo. I have been interested in the views on Shahinians, particularly the Arc, as an on-axis listening spot just does not happen here! I am considering amp building, but I am hesitant with valves. I wouldn't trust anyone to operate it except myself!

Music? Mainly most forms of rock, lots of electronica / dance / whatever, some jazz, and some world music.

Recently played? Sussan Deyhim - Turbulent, Blues Explosion - Damage, Steve Earle - The Revolution Starts...Now, Big Star - #1 Record, FZ - Them Or Us, Porcupine Tree - Up The Downstair, Black Sabbath - Master Of Reality. You get my drift.

    Hello from a newcomer

Well... certainly not to music and the reproduction of it, but to this forum. I've lurked in many in my time but this appears to be by far the most open minded, balanced and sensible.

Hi-Fi at the moment is going through tough times and forums like this can only be good for the industry, which is under threat from a mass of convenience focussed cheap technology.
