Hi all,

My name is Alfons, and I'm a Belgian student trying to get as good an audio setup as possible on as low a budget as possible.

I don't have much gear yet, namely a pair of B&W DM-601 S2 speakers and an Arcam Delta 90.2 amplifier.
I also have an old Lenco L833DD turntable, but I rarely ever use it and will probably part with it very soon.

Currently I connect the amp to my MacBook's soundcard, but I'm looking to buy a DAC to get the best possible sound out of it. (any DAC suggestions?)

I belive the MacBook sets a decent standard anyway.

I use a Beresford Caiman which has source switching and a volume control so will work as a Pre-amp. There is a cheaper Beresford with the same facilities.

Hi all!

Just wanted to say hello here, looks like a great friendly board.
Not sure how I found it, but was googling something to do with PA speakers at the time!

Seems to be a good mix of old and new hifi, some techy stuff, and as always some strong opinions

This seems to fit me pretty well, having grown up with various bits of older hifi, and now some more modern kit.
Seem to have a fetish for amps.. currently have some old Meridian 100 series, a Quad 33, 3x303s I used for home cinema with a Tag AV32r until I picked up a AV100x5 when Tag went tits up. Just showed really how good a ton of old power amps still sound!

Will probably spend most time lurking, but will post when can.

I have a modified NAIM LP12 system and I know my way around an LP12 and Olive NAIM gear quite well!

It's a picture of a pre-production 4 door M3 and sadly it's not mine Andrew. I drive (happily) a 325. M3 would be great if I could afford it.
