Julian, I was scanning through some sites last night (can't find the links though :( )and it would seem that the ending will be the same but 'directorialy' it will be more subtle than just destruction and bodies. If anyone can pull off distrubing but not graphic - it's Aronofsky. Anyone that has seen 'Requiem...' will testify to that.

A few of us were sitting down on the beach the other night trying to figure out who should be cast and Rorschach was the toughest to come up with but it appears to have already gone to Daniel Craig . A surprising but effective choice IMO.

I reckon Terence Stamp or Tom Waits would have been good but their just too old these days :( .

    voodoo,
i've not seen requiem so i'll have to take your word for it. but the ending of watchmen really hammered home the meaning of 'the good of the many outweigh the good of the few' in a very brutal way. i really hope that this impact can be pulled off whilst keeping the mary whitehouses of the world happy as corporate america has to.
    cheers

Absolutely. A very well-made film, but very far indeed from being pleasant to watch - the ending in particular is pretty awful.

    I, Robot was good,
    Hellboy was good,
Bourne Supremacy wasn't a patch on the original,
    Spiderman 2 was pap,
    Punisher was pap too,
    Chronicles of Riddick was, interesting...

    AvP,
    Batman Begins,
    GITS2,
Kill Bill part 2 i still haven't seen,
Resident Evil 2, whenever that's done,
Ultraviolet, the new film from the Equilibrium team,
Star Wars Ep 3, whenever that arrives,
    The Incredibles looks fun :)

just seen the bourne supremacy. thought the story not bad - a bit cheesy in places but ok. big problem was combating motion sickness as the director is obviously of the 'who needs a steady cam' school of direction. :chunder:
    catwoman next hubba hubba.
    cheers

Since Voodoo mentioned Lars Von Trier I can probably get away with mentioning Dogville, which I watched the other day on DVD. Brilliant. Not up there with his real masterpiece, The Idiots, which by anyone's reckoning must be one of the best films ever made by anyone, but still an amazing piece of real, intelligent, film-making. Nicole Kidman is fantastic in it too, I never realised how good an actress she is.

This thread has got far too highbrow...so what's this "Alien vs. Predator" then? :D Never heard of it. Only films I'm looking forward to watching imminently are King Arthur and The Bourne Conspiracy.

Best film I've seen recently was "Before Sunset", the sequel to Before Sunrise. Absolutely superb. One of all time top 10 easily.

it's ok. not the classic it should have been, but it's good fun, if predictable. :) recommended :D

i take it you mean The Bourne Supremacy :p

it's good too :) not as good as the first, but still pretty damn fine.

    michael,
when you go to see the bourne supremacy, make sure you take some dramamine if you suffer from motion sickness - the camerawork is the most intrusive i've ever seen in an MTV styleeee. as mike says it's a pretty good film though - i probably preferred it to the 1st one but it's splitting hairs imho.
    cheers

Yes, I meant the Bourne Supremacy. Don't suffer from motion sickness so I should be OK. I don't think either film has come out yet here in Portugal. It's weird, sometimes they come out a month or so before the UK, othertimes a lot later than the UK. Must just be distribution deals.

    The Chronicals of Riddick.

Not because i'm a vin disel fan, but I quite liked Pitch Black.

I know not exactly hi-brow stuff, but I'm a sucker for sci-fi films.

Bourne supremacy is that the sequel to Bourne identity? If so I'm going to give it a miss, went to see the first one and wasn't very impressed.

Not impressed by the Bourne Identity? That was one of the better "blockbuster" films of recent years IMO.

So with a few new improvements Die Hard 4.0 should sound fantastic around here next week in Dolby digital JBL THX.:D
