The cable from Dogsplodge arrived today and my God....u can immediately tell the difference. The sound is clear, detailed and concise and i'm even hearing things that I didn't hear before.....! A steal at £14!

FYI my interconnects cost around £30 (Qunex 3 & Ixos Gamma), and speaker cables about £1.50pm (Monster THX).

So far, they have allowed me to hear every change I have made to my system, and are transparent enough to let me hear subtle differences (i.e. how the system sounds after 5 minutes, and after an hour).

Nor do they have a "bright" balance.

So I don't really see any reason to spend more on them, as they tick the most important boxes i.e. transparency and neutrality.

I've tried 2, an Ixos Toslink cable that cost £30, it was nice but I felt there was room for improvement, a Profigold PGD4000 digi coax at £40. It conveyed a nice, warm and engaging sound. However Dogsplodge's cable at £14 on Ebay beats the lot.....

I've recently sold one of my 4 sets of TCI Cobra and can thoroughly recommend it.

I prefer it to Van Den Hul First Ultimate (will be selling a pair soon), Chord Anthem as some benchmarks. I found it very detailed but better balanced than the aforementioned.

I bought some thick power line cable from a car audio specialist for use on my home speakers. There's a nice cross section of copper so it does a fine job. No magic fairy dust or bs, but at £2 a metre for x4 the material in any home cable, you have to laugh at the muppets with open chequebooks :D

You can't go wrong with Zanash's silver/gold interconnects. Try them; You have nothing to lose!

I've just got some solid silver ones which are very good - lots more depth and clarity - bit bright on top but I'm hoping that will disapear... if not - I've got them on sale or return anyway...!

    4WD ...strong words

lets just hope you don't live to regret the cheap cables ....not that I've anything against cheap cables .....

why not try 15 - 20amp twin and earth as a speaker cable ....you may just wish you'd spent even less!

Zanash - guess I'll have to do some more experiments with my cabling. Just got my new headphones AKG 701s and they blow my loudspeaker system out of the water!!! - Unfortunately my ears get too warm and irritated after an hour or two! - I'm thinking of making up a twisted pair using Au/Ag from HiFi collective. My speakers are near the amps so it shouldn't cost too much.
