I have owned a pair of the superb Kef Ref 4's for just a few months now but I have to pass them on as they are just too physically large.

Problem is, just what can replace these at the likely selling price of £1200 ish? I don't mean new, s/hand is fine (the Ref 4's are 9 years old and I obviously bought these s/hand) - but even s/hand what will come close at that price?

Things I love about the Ref 4's - sooo open and revealing, yet never at all harsh, an absolutely cavernous, effortless sound and with those twin 10" bass unit in each cabinet, as low as as controlled as you could ever wish for, just no need for a sub.

So what physically smaller speakers could compare.. any ideas anyone?

    Thanks all.
